Love the tank top for this race. |
Following the 4 miler was the inaugural bikini beer mile. My group does bikinis right. I'm disgusted that the guys look hotter in a suit than I do.
There was running and puking.
Some of it was by the best runners in the state. This race was a state championship for the 4-mile distance, so some talent came out!
I adore the reactions in this photo! |
After the bikini beer mile they held an "amateur" mile - no bikinis needed, and beers were in cups instead of cans. To my surprise, David volunteered!
Fourth beer goes down a little rough |
And the man has found his event.
He ran a sub-10 min beer mile (4 beers, 4 laps) - and this is the man that barely cracks ten minute pace in a 5k. Hidden talent, my friends.
I didn't do the beer mile because someone had to drive, but next year I think I'll try it. Ever done a beer mile or beer race?
hey-it is just like going to the hash! :)
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly!
DeleteI've never "raced" anything that involves beer + running, but hashing is great training! Maybe I should sign up next year?
beer and running..I would be so sick...
ReplyDeleteno chance I would ever do this!!!
Ha ha, this is awesome! Great pics and yay on runner's high, not feeling pain and not having to run too fast to feel good. :) Go David!
ReplyDeleteThis is hilarious. :) Glad you had fun! And even better is a good race and no pain. Yay!
ReplyDeleteNo pain AND a fun race- sounds like a win/win to me!!
ReplyDeleteI love that tank top too!! Why can't all summer 5K's give out tank tops instead of plain t's?
DeleteAbsolutely! There was a very casual midnight marathon the weekend before the 4th of July and the T-shirts were black and long-sleeved. In New Orleans in July. Whoever thought that was a good idea?!
DeleteI love the tank too! So hard to find in general. (yes I look for t-shirt tanks for lounge wear bc I am a stylish redneck!) never done a beer mile(s), but have done a donut run. Not sure which would be more barf-inducing.
ReplyDeleteThis is fun! I was going to do the Beerathon a few years ago, but I can barely drink without running...or run without drinking.
ReplyDeletelol on this entire post and event! I've only done a beer mile once, and it was awful - never again! I didn't puke, but I was so full after it was over that I just felt terrible. I got around 14 minutes I think haha
ReplyDeleteI have never even heard of a beer mile! But it looks like a lot of fun to watch.
