The last thing I got from my current doctor was a perplexed, "You're perfectly healthy!"
But I'm not. If I was I wouldn't be waking in the middle of the night, leg aching dully. Also, I'd be at track tonight, rather than sitting at my computer eating chocolate chips forlornly.

Now. Moving on! A little vacation!
We stayed in Santa Rosa (cheap, central) and the first day we did some downtown depot district shopping, by which I mean thrifting. I bought a fabulous gold necklace.
Then we drove up to Healdsburg to visit some vineyards, picnic in the square, and do a cave tour. We finished the afternoon with food and wine pairings, then had a tapas dinner at Chalkboard (delicious; way too much food - so hard to get tapas right!). Then, because we are old people, we went to sleep way early. Yay vacation! Next...the coast and the redwoods.
So have you tried talking to a chiropractor? I know it's sort of "alternative" but if PT isn't helping, it's at least a different approach to look into.
ReplyDeleteI'm having really good results seeing a chiro for pregnancy induced issues, for what it's worth.
oh my you should have asked me for Vineyard recommendations, we wine taste up there all the time! I even recognized that map lol - enjoy CA!
ReplyDeleteand yea hopefully you went to Bear Republic brewery in Healdsburg, awesome beer. Also Russian River Brewery in Santa Rosa is great too - Pliny the Younger and Pliny the Elder.
ReplyDeleteDitto on the chiropractor recommendation. I have one that does ART and I feel so much better afterwards. I have a dull ache that starts in the middle of my lower back, runs over to my left hip and left quad. Interestingly, it didn't bother me on vacation last week hiking mountains, but it hurts like a mother at work maybe because I stand all freaking day. Ugh... By the way, I saw your name (I think) in WAG PRN. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteYes, my 15 seconds of fame, lol. Thank you!
DeleteOh boy. I hope that you can get to the bottom of this. Not knowing what is wrong is the worst thing, I think. Once you know, you can deal with it. I hope you get some answers soon.
ReplyDeleteHoping that a new perspective can help you get to the bottom of this. Have faith in your instincts. When you have a feeling something isn't right - keep searching to find an answer.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed for you!
Not a popular opinion, but outside of ART (which I have never had, but do believe in the benefits of) I do not think chiropractors help at all. Three injuries + three chiropractors have remained three injuries. Physical therapists however, are the BOMB. They look at the way your whole leg is moving; they, like chiropractors say they do, but dont, can see a dysfunction or weakness in one area, and point to why it causes an injury in another. Moreover, they give you the tools to get stronger. PT exercises suck, but they work. Three injuries + three PTs has had me running again very quickly. ~ Penny
ReplyDeleteAnd your vacation pics are gorg!
DeleteUnfortunately my chiropractic experience was much like yours!
DeleteWhat a fantastic vacation! JEALOUS.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are getting a second opinion. You've got a lot of natural talent and I'd hate for you to have to give up running! I hope you are able to get some answers and someone who can help.
Hope the second opinion tells you something more. Love the yellow on you. Your vacation sounds fantastic. Oh and driving through the redwoods is an unforgettable adventure.
ReplyDeleteUgh, yes, it's so frustrating when the doctor's like, "Everything's fine!" Definitely get a second opinion. You never know.
ReplyDeleteLove Santa Rosa! Love Healdsburg! Love wine country in fall in general! Glad you had a good trip. :)
