Next marathon, on the books!

A few texts, some concerned calls, a scouting of plane tickets...
and I registered for the Twin Cities Marathon this October. Why? Well, it's supposed to be an excellent race in a lovely city, but it's mostly so I can see my brother and his family! An excuse to visit!
After my brother's health scare this spring (he had a pulmonary embolism, which, for those who might be wondering, remains categorized as unprovoked - at least nothing familial!), I wanted to make sure to visit sooner rather than later, but our schedules were a mess until the fall. I happened to see an add for the race, mentioned it to my brother, and before long we'd talked each other into it. It's in eighteen weeks, so training through the long, hot summer will start soon!

  1. Love MTCM so much, it's one of my top 5 marathons of all time! I think I have a race report on my site somewhere. It was my first BQ, very well-organized, pretty course, amazing spectators, not too tough elevation wise. You'll love it I bet!

  3. Yea!! You are coming to my city! Maybe we can try to meet up for a coffee or something when you are here? I would love to meet you in person. I think you will love the TCM. It's such a gorgeous course with great spectators! And how great that you combine the marathon with time with your family!

  4. I've had several friends run this race and we're kind of still kicking it around ... I've already done Minnesota, but I need to schedule something.

  6. Twin Cities Marathon is home to my PR! (It's from 2011, oops.) Such a great race though - it was perfect fall weather and beautiful with the changing colors. The hill in St. Paul is a beast, though!
