Blogger humble pie
3:06:12 at RnR New Orleans 2012. I did not make my goal of 3:05. In fact, I ran a very foolish race and paced like a complete moron. I am off to eat a huge slice of humble pie. Actually, I think some real pie sounds pretty good right now.

Lol @ your picture!
ReplyDeleteGirl, a 3:06 is still a PHENOMENAL time, especially when you haven't been feeling well!
Fantastic job. I don't think you need any humble pie. I think you should eat regular pie and lots of it to celebrate!
You weren't far off. I wouldn't feel too bad about it. And you should definitely eat some pie - you've earnt it.
ReplyDeleteHumble pie my butt!! What?!! Where have I been??! You just ran another marathon ? (yes, I'm missing in blog action). 3:06!! This is incredible. Hope to hear more. Boston is yours!!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo! In my book 3:06 is pretty dang amazing. Now go eat LOTS of pie!

Wait...is 3:06 a PR? If so, congrats on that! 3:05 will be cake next time.
ReplyDeleteExcellent effort despite your challenges! You came so close - perhaps next time you will go sub-3? Good for you!

ReplyDeleteBest photo ever. Sorry you didn't make your goal but a 3:06 is still awesome! Now go eat 8 slices of pie.
ReplyDeleteYou are a riot!! Love that picture! I am sure you will get your 3:05- or better next time around! I think your 3:06 is pretty stinkin awesome! :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is a great photo. Perfectly shot. You were only one minute away from your goal. Sick or not, that is a damn good race.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I don't know how David got a picture at that point - I was in such a crowd! He shot it at 180th/sec with his 18 - 55 zoom lens. I think all my races have given him good practice at panning ;-)
DeleteGracie, that may very well be my favorite photo that I've seen up in the blog world. Your face is priceless. And you look SO LEGIT!!! Because you are legit.
ReplyDeleteAnd check out all those neon shoes prancing across the bottom of the screen.
I am SO freakin proud of you, what an amazing PR!!! I don't care if you feel like you need to be humbled, because you DON'T!
You are saving the sub 3:05 for Boston, that's all. Rockstar!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a race! Congrats, I think that is another PR! Hilarious pic too, haha
ReplyDeleteOh man, so close! Looking forward to the recap. Hope you're resting up a bit.
ReplyDeletewe all gotta eat that sometimes. hey, so long as u learn from those 'stupid mistakes' and try not to make them in the future then the race is hardly a waste in the long run. :)
