I've been doing the very occasional 20 minute Yoga for Runners class offered for free from Yoga Download in an attempt to stay limber. But recently I started using this version, and I like it even more:

My life amuses me. It will probably amuse you, too.
Hey, I saw your post about the tendon issues. I had tendonities in my quad last winter. I was also told to keep running, but keep the runs short (30 min) and super easy. I used to do 2 runs a day, both very short and easy, and eventually the tendon heals. Before I did this. I tried to run hard and less frequent but that only made things worse. Yes, stretching helps as well. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHmmm. I have a dvd of yoga for runners I bought a ways back fully intending to do it a few times a week. I have only done it once. I know I need to get with it! Good for you! I hope you continue to heal so you can get back to where you want to be soon.
ReplyDeleteSportskool (available On Demand and there are some on YouTube) has a Yoga for Runners session I really like. Very easy to follow and feels amazing after a week of hard running.
ReplyDelete1. I really notice better health throughout the day when I do many of these stretching and yoga poses post run.
ReplyDelete2. Did this lady really end her run right there in the middle of that beach near those rocks? Mine usually ends at home in my living room.
3. Regarding your comment on my blog ... you're a smart-aleck, ha! You're actually one of the people I wrote that for because you told me "way to keep it real" about not selling out ... sorry.
BTW - I watched the video and saw the name, I used to date a girl named Bahamas McAspen so I guess it didn't strike me as that strange.
ReplyDeleteHa!
DeleteI just came across your blog. I have used that same yoga video and really like it. She has a number of videos on doyogawithme.com that are really great, before and after running or on a non-run day!
ReplyDeleteFiji McAlpine. That may have broken the awesome-name-o-meter. It only seems right that she's doing yoga on a beach with rocks in the background. I think I need to rename my kids.
ReplyDeleteI made a brief try at yoga a couple years back to try and get some flexibility going, but I developed a calf strain and everything seemed to make my calf flare up. Maybe time to revisit.
