Christmas with cranes

This year's decorating theme is paper cranes.
I bought jewel tone foil origami paper and we're incorporating the cranes both on the tree:

And on our advent calendar - or rather, advent branch.

David and I wrote Christmas Bible verses on the backs of the origami paper; every day we choose a paper, read the verse, then fold a paper crane and hang it on our advent branch.

Along with paper cranes, we decorated around blues and silvers, including silver snowflake ribbon on the mantles.

The tree also has the glass ornaments that David and I made when we were dating.

What's your tree look like this year?

  1. You are so creative! It has always been my dream to be able to make origami cranes. I think that will be my project over the Christmas holidays.

And I love that you made glass ornaments while you were dating and you have kept them. You lovers :)

  2. I still need to buy a tree. But, I use the same ornaments every year - a random collection from trips, or gifts from others.

  3. I'm extremely impressed with your writing skills as neatly as with the format for your blog. Is this a paid topic or did you modify it yourself? Anyway stay up the excellent quality writing, it's rare
to see a nice blog like this one nowadays.

  4. Ah, that's cute that you guys made ornaments when you were dating! Our looks pretty much the same as last year. I'm thinking of wrapping fake presents to put under it because we're not really doing the whole present thing this year. Can't wait to have a mantel someday to decorate!!
