I'm such a tightwad.

I sold my prison.

Yep, people bid on used medical equipment. Gross.

(This has been a big selling week for me. I also sold my vacuum on Craigslist. It's a fabulous fancy vacuum but I have two area rugs and I just never use it. It's too big and heavy. So I sold it for $50 and bought a new tiny light vacuum for $55, the same kind I have at work and love - I just wish I would have broken even. Stupid taxes.)

What's the weirdest thing you've bought used? I've purchased open paint before. Art supplies are expensive, and these weren't dried out and were someone's failed hobby for super cheap.

  1. Ew! Strange. Who'd buy used medical equipment?

I don't think I've bought anything particularly weird used; but a not insignificant proportion of my wardrobe and (ahem) most of our furniture (the chairs might not match but they were free) is thrifted!

  2. You know your used medical equipment was purchased by some weird freak for purposes other than it's original intent. Haha, so gross. Michael sells stuff on Craigslist from time to time, but I don't let the people casing my house ... er, I mean "buyers" ... pick it up at my house. I bought a grey t-shirt that read ARMY across the front when I was about 20 at a garage sale, but I've never been in the military.

  3. My roomate had surgery and the difference between a walking boot from her dr's office (insurance did not cover it) and off ebay was over a hundred dollars.
