Flu clinic time again
Here I am, stuck in a tiny room at Delgado community college, giving vaccines for four hours. It's cold. I'm hungry. The bathroom is in another building. But at least the employees are getting vaccinated!
Thanks for the reminder! I teach elementary school, so I make it a point to get one each year. Now, if only there was a shot to avoid getting the colds the kids so liberally share with me...
No shot yet, but i was pleased to see Costco is hosting a clinic in our tiny town and the shots are going to be only 15$. So I think I will get one. The flu sucks!!!
Walgreens has vouchers for free vaccines for anyone who is uninsured. Ask at your local Walgreens. If they don't have any let me know and I can mail you some.
I feel like flu season never ends! We have to offer them to every single patient from September-April, which is more time than not! I obviously don't mind vaccinating people (I'm pro-vaccine), but I could do without everyone's opinions on vaccines...mainly the ones that aren't science-based at all. "The flu shot gives me the flu." IT DOES NOT. Anyway. I do believe in a sore arm from a flu shot and sometimes a mild cold-like reaction to the flu shot, so I'll be getting mine after my big fall race in two weeks.
Flu season - oh gosh, how is it September already?! (Susan - I'm with you on all the unscientific fear around vaccines. So frustrating. Especially when it affects children.)
