$22 at the Goodwill

It was a good weekend at the Goodwill.
I picked up these two matching tops with tags still on, which were sold from Anthropologie. I don't know which one I'm keeping yet, because I'm letting my sister pick one so we can be long-distance twins.

Then I got four tops: a yellow tank with sheer panels in the back (wore it to dinner); two serviceable T-shirts from Ann Taylor that are just dressed up enough to pull off at work, in tan with lace and black with ribbon; and a J. Crew button-down that also still had tags.

But the steal of the day were the Etienne Agnier pumps, clearly never worn, in navy snakeskin. They're a classic shoe and comfortable, since they are actually a wide size. I have been slowly replacing my shoe collection with leather shoes only. When I was a poor college student, leather shoes were an unthinkable luxury (unless they were a Goodwill find), but now I'm looking at the worth of comfort. My feet are so oddly-shaped that I rely on leather's malleability to get the shoes to even fit a little bit. At $3, I think these heels are a good investment!

  1. Awesome!!!!! Thrift stores here NEVER have items that nice. I do, however, shop the clearance rack at a local designer consignment store. Some of my nicest dress pants are from there. One person's junk is another's treasure!

  3. You're the best shopper! We're actually about to head to GW now, looking for a pair of khaki pants for my 10 yr old to wear once.

  4. wow, you got some major steals! Especially those shoes! I also invest a lot more money into my shoes now that I have RA. It's worth the money spent.

  5. Your local Goodwill is amazing! Those tops are a nice find. Here the thrift stores are full of poufy wedding dresses from the 80s. I have scored a few nice things before, mostly cute and comfortable shoes, but you really have to hunt. I love thrift shopping because I really, really don't like wasting things, and throwing out usable clothing seems like a colossal waste.

  7. At $3 those shoes were an amazing investment. I used to by cheap shoes too but now that the kids are older and not a financial drain, I've allowed myself more expensive, quality shoes and the difference is huge. My boots now last years instead of just a season.

  8. I am a big thrift store shopper as well. I wish I would have started this years ago. There is a huge store called Savers right by my work, and I find so much good stuff there. I find labels like Ann Taylor Loft, Express, Talbots, Banana Republic. My best find for shoes was a pair of brand new Cole Haan loafers for $6.00. I even considered doing a blog post on the running tops that I find at the thrift store. But, I didn't want to gross anyone out...
