I wanted to do the Savannah R&R half last year, the first year they held it there. Couldn't make it; Saturday races that involve travel just don't work for the kids most of the year, so I didn't go. When I heard about the nightmarish traffic jams for packet pickup, and the epic shuttlebus cluster on race morning, plus part of the course on a highway through and industrial area of town - well, I didn't feel sorry at all that I didn't make it! There's a Hot Chocolate 15K in the ATL in January, also new; not sure if I want to take a chance on it since I've read about some bad first HC races.Kaylahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09922062201950752540noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1457833116563861494.post-77715057141267445212012-07-22T11:04:28.250-05:002012-07-22T11:04:28.250-05:00When I first started running I didn't really t...When I first started running I didn't really take into account anything - my first half marathon had a 4.5 mile uphill portion! I don't like it turning into a large amount of money since usually the registration alone is $125-$200..I'm cheap, lol. In fact, I've never done a fall marathon earlier than Nov for that reason. I do like the reviews on MarathonGuide, too--I think it's really valuable to get the "real deal" from other runners.misszippyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16816276167373260149noreply@blogger.com
