I'd hate to see you injured again after all you've been through... I thought it sounded like a little much too - but honestly, we all know what our bodies can handle, and if you felt good enough later that evening to run a race, I say go for it. Your legs and hip are only going to take you as fast as your conditioned for right now. The real test will be the next day. I don't see a huge issue with the speed - but I probably push it a little more than most.
